O.K. I love to hang out on the 2 peas message boards (www.twopeasinabucket.com) and I have been following Fleur-de-Lisa. She has been creating the coolest paper rosette's and sharing them on the MB. Last week, while I was at the library I discovered the library has a subscription to Scrapbooks, etc. so I checked a copy out. The April 2010 edition has a section on creating paper flowers-including rosettes. This morning I had a chance to play and now I am in love!!!
This is my first attempt. The rosette is made by cutting 2 strips of 12x12 paper into 2x12 strips; scored at every 1/2 inch; connected and then "pinched" in the center to make it lay flat. I used cardstock from SU!; the patterned paper is by Daisy D; the flower is by Prima and the little pearl is SU!. This is a pretty detailed card for me - Iove it!!
The card below is made with patterned paper from Heidi Swapp and the flowers are from Queen & Co. It's hard to tell with the picture but the rosette really makes the flowers "pop" off of the card!!
Depending on how big you want your flower dictates how wide you cut your strips. I had so much fun making these cards!!
I also found time to create a page for my son Patrick's school album - which is currently up-to-date!!! Hooray.
Cardstock from Bazzill; patterned paper by Cosmo Cricket; circle alphabet letters by K&Co.; bottom letters from Thickers - stinkin cute don't you think!!!
On a roll...hope it continues.
Great cards, love the flowers!
