Playing With Paper!!

A new love!

We all go through it - a new fad or tool catches your eye & you get addicted.  My latest addiction are embosslit dies - I found mine in the Stampin' Up! Catalog.  I have 3 so far: Beautiful Wings, Simple Flower and Flower Burst.  I started with Beautiful Wings.  I was at a crop weekend and I borrowed someones and loved the butterflies - so pretty.  I belong to an SU! monthly club so with my latest order I purchased Simple Flower.  This is my first card using it:

 
I used patterned paper by Recollections bought at Michaels and the card stock is Cherry Cobbler from SU!.  The little dot in the middle of the flower is a pearl from Queen & Co. (I admit - another addiction - love those little pearls).  I love the simplicity of this card and I can use it for any occasion.

Oh happy day!!

I love my children dearly but sometimes I just need a break so yesterday afternoon I headed off to Michaels for some alone time.  This week, Michaels has Bazzill cardstock 2 for $1.00 & since I am going away this weekend to go scrapbooking, I thought I should stock up.  Look what I found:

This is what 120 sheets of Bazzill cardstock looks like!!  Michaels had this pack of 100 sheets of cardstock on sale for $17.00 so (of course) I had to have it.  And then I bought some additional sheets because it was all on sale.  I know I have a paper addiction problem and yesterday did not help but I am so happy!!

I also found these Thickers on sale at M's for $2.50:

I love Thickers and especially love getting them on sale!!  

And after I did my shopping, I came home and created!!  I created the following layout with the supplies I received in the monthly kit from Paper Poppy:

So cute!!  This is for my daughter Graces' school album.  The cardstock is Bazzill; patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket and the letter chipboard by Thickers.  This paper is perfect for Grace - beautiful and happy!!

As I write this, I wonder - should I go back to Michael's and get more cardstock?  No, Yes??  I think maybe I need an intervention - should a person really love paper this much??
 

Happy Saturday!!

 So, yesterday afternoon I was preparing to take the kids to the lake when my doorbell rang and this is what I found:

I love it when one of these shows up on my doorstep!!  I usually means something fun is inside!!  And this is what I found once I was able to open the box (this morning-torture!).

Last week I was checking out some blogs and I came across a great blog by this woman named Aphra which led me to a wonderful website for www.paper-poppy.com.  It is a new (at least new to me) monthly kit & I had to order it.  Did you see the strawberry chipboard book over on the right?  If you don't know, I love fruit!  I have fruit plates and images all over my kitchen; can't pass up a kitchen towel with fruit on it and definitely can't not buy fruit embellishments.  I have all kinds of fruit stamps and paper; & I am always making fruit related cards.  So, needless to say this kit just screamed "I want to come to your house".  The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket & Jilli Bean and the Thickers have little pocka dots on them.  I can't wait to play with this.   And check out Paper Poppy - fun and cute kits!

 
I also had the chance to scrapbook a bit yesterday.  This is a layout I created for my girl Grace for a field trip we went on to Sterling Mines this past spring (really cool place).  All the patterned paper is from Basic Grey (I am determined to use what I have before I buy any more new Basic Grey - but I really love some of the new paper); cardstock by Bazzill and title stickers from Thickers.  Still working on getting the kids albums up-to-date; not quite there yet.
